FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 6, 2025 – The Town of Ajax, in partnership with local community organizations, hosted a special launch event on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the Ajax Community Centre, South Parking Lot (75 Centennial Rd, Ajax, ON) to unveil a new 53-ft Stop Intimate Partner Violence transport truck, a vehicle dedicated to raising public awareness and promoting intervention against intimate partner violence (IPV).
The initiative is a collaborative effort to publicly call for intervention and prevention of IPV within the community, following the release of the Town of Ajax and Partners’ Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) 2024 Report. This report details 13 action items aimed at creating meaningful change through continued advocacy, education, and open dialogue.
This truck wrap was sponsored by the Town of Ajax, the Ajax Partnership Fund, Ajax Downs, Smurtfit Westrock Ajax, and Mackie Transportation. The event featured remarks from key stakeholders, including Ajax Council members and representatives from partner organizations: Victim Services of Durham Region, YWCA Durham, Spa Sedona, and Angela Baltkois. Attendees also had access to vital IPV intervention and prevention resources from local service providers.
The Town of Ajax remains committed to working with regional and local partners to address all forms of gender-based and intimate partner violence and ensure necessary supports are readily available to vulnerable populations.
At Big Rig Wraps, we continue to be fully committed to supporting social causes and raising awareness of issues that directly impact our communities through truck advertising campaigns that can reach wider audiences throughout the Durham Region and Ontario.
We thank all of the sponsors and everyone involved in this project who have helped spread this message in hopes that this campaign grows and reaches key regions all over the province.
